Sagalassos: A Timeless City
The ancient city of Sagalassos is built on the slopes of the Taurus Mountains and is located 7 kilometers from Aglasun, and 120 km from Antalya. The city has preserved residential buildings, a bathhouse, a square, a ceramic workshop, a theater, a library, fountains and the parliament building. Sagalassos is known as one of the five largest centers for the production of ceramics in ancient Rome.
The city is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The first mention of it in written sources dates back to 333 BC, when Sagalassos was conquered by Alexander the Great.
After visiting the ancient city, we go to the Karajaoren dam. The dam is located on the Antalya-Isparta highway. The dam offers an impressive view of the lake.
